Creative Craft Supply Storage

It’s that time of year again! You know, when you start to think all of your craft supplies could use a little organization.

It seems like all the hustle and bustle of summer fun can leave ribbon bunched together, scrapbook paper on the table, and scissors on the other side of the house.

Well, here are a few ideas to get your craft goodies back where you can find them again!

This lovely craft area above has taken that wasted space on the inside of the cabinet doors and made it useful!  Pegboard and metal attached to the inside of the doors is an awesome trick!

I adore this vintage ribbon holder I found at Holly Doodle Designs.  It’s organization & beautiful craft room decor all rolled into one!

Don’t waste that wall space! I love how this beautiful {BEAUTIFUL!!!} craft area uses the space above the desk.

Take an old table, cut some holes in the top for cups, paint, add some wheels….and you have a fabulous rolling craft station!  You could even roll it right into a closet when you’re not using it!

I’m out of control in my studio…you can barely walk in there! But I’m working on it. Just got a 10 drawer unit so that should help.
    Happy New Year!

Oh how I need some organization skills about now. If anyone looked at my craft/work room you’d probably fall over in shock & laughter, yes at the same time.

I have a H-U-G-E room to work w, but you’d not know it for all the things that are piled up here & there.

I’ve been reading the past few days on storage ideas that I can create w what I already have.

LOVE the rolling craft station idea. There is forever someone on freecycle gifting an unused coffee/end table. Its nothing to attach some rollers to the legs! Great idea.

I just did a post on Crafts Unleashed highlighting my main workstation, which is made using wire kitchen carts from Ikea, MDF, and flat wall paneling – and it ROCKS!! Check out the post here – http://www.craftsunleashed.com/index.php/seasonal/organization-week-jens-studio-peek/. 🙂 Oh – and I’m DROOLING over that ribbon holder!!!

For paper storage, I swear by Legacy Crafters Beautone 12″ x 12″ Work-In-Progress Scrapbooking Binders. They keep the papers from being handled, bent, or smudged. And best of all, you can simply lay a photo over the page when you’re trying to colour-match.

I love the rolling craft table too! A few years ago I had to go to a pampered chef party and not wanting to be the outcast I felt obliged to buy something. I got a kitchen utensil lazy susan – it works great for my set of paper scissors (the ones that do all the fancy edges), other scissors and rotary cutters.

All of my fabrics/other random material cutoffs have been sling into huge bags and are dotted around my bedroom at the moment…. behind the TV, on top of the wardrobe… you name a piece of furniture and I can guarantee there will be some form of my craftness on it! I think my boyfriend is getting pretty tired of it lol But luckily we are moving to a bigger larger house before xmas with a bedroom going spare ^_^ I can sense a new craft room for myself. (Just have to fight the boyfriends ‘games room’ idea and I will be sorted!) Let the battle commence!
