Spring Tote Bag Tutorial - Ombre - EverythingEtsy

I’m looking forward to spring around here, so I’m getting ready with a touch of color here and there. This spring tote bag is perfect for a picnic or a day at the beach. I can’t wait!

It all started with a plain tote bag, a white bandana and a fabulous Mini Tie-Dye Kit from Tulip.  Now I feel like updating lots of plain T-shirts and accessories around here…it was a super easy project!

I used this Tulip Mini Tie-Dye Kit and these neon fabric markers, which can be found exclusively at Michael’s and at i Love to Create.  This kit made it easy to get creative in minutes!

You just add water to the bottles…it’s awesome!  The kit includes gloves and a great set of directions to help you create a ton of tie-dye projects.

I found a white bandana at my local Michael’s and thought I would really go crazy with some color, but I ended up making it mostly yellow {A beautiful shade of yellow, don’t you think?} with little touches of white where I had the rubber bands.

I plan to go back later and use my cool neon markers, but this will do for now. Smile

Then I took a basic tote bag and started painting on the pink dye right where I wanted it.  I protected my surface with wax paper, but plastic might be better.  Of course, I wore gloves that were included in the kit.

I started at the bottom of the bag and worked my way up gradually getting lighter and lighter.  I love that look!

Make sure to paint the edge of the bag or you’ll have a funny blank spot…no one has time for that!

I just followed the simple directions in the kit and this is what I ended up with…

Today was pretty enough to sit outside at one of our favorite spots for lunch..of course I brought my bag along!

These products made my day…I big puffy heart easy-to-use craft supplies!
