I’ve done SEO and SEM building/strategy, consulting and teaching for small web businesses for well about 15 years. I’ve seen it evolve, go from Search Engine Optimization to a major marketing movement. And I have to say, I ABSOLUTELY AGREE with you, that it is, in all reality, a byproduct of all the right efforts. I’ve always cautioned my clients to be careful and not get too wrapped up in it, because it can take you away from the fundamentals, and make you a bit crazy, as well (or very crazy lol). So I wanted to give my two cents and say, it’s nice to hear someone state what you have, which flies in the face of what is so heavily promoted out there. SEO is often used like a magic wand, mystical cure and supernatural power by those “in the know.” (I remember when it was actually promoted as “too complicated” for any one but those connected with the search engine industry and their insiders. Sheesh.) So yes, SEO has a very definite importance, BUT as you said so well, it happens when the other more important things are done. It falls into place. Then, when you reach a level where you can afford professionals who do nothing else and are savvy on all the search engine industry changes, then you can enter that very time consuming game…in my humble and experienced opinion. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am looking forward to your new videos!

Thanks Cherie’ — It’s great to read your comment! I tried to communicate the point clearly that SEO is important and certainly something that can be very effective, just not the thing to do before those other things I mentioned are lined-up and ready. I appreciate you backing me up on the subject! ~ Tim

Ha! That put a smile on my face this early start morning! I’m glad to hear you say that because that feeling is really just that tiny voice inside telling you that building a business that BOTH pays your bills AND makes you happy all the time IS possible. All we want to do is help you make that happen.

Thanks for the comment and the smile!

This whole series is so timely for my little business and I’m grateful that you guys are sharing your experienced knowledge with us. I look forward to delving into all those spindles in the flow chart!! But I must confess, I have zero desire to start my own blog. I just wonder if there’s any way to avoid that part? Like, is it really necessary for ALL businesses? It just seems like such a huge, daunting task, and I already have my hands full as a one man show over here. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think I’m already on your email list, but maybe there’s a separate one for these videos and the upcoming course? If so, I’d like to be on that one too. Thanks!!
