Start Your Own Website Today — Huge Black Friday Sale!

By Tim Layton 3 Comments

How about a Black Friday deal for your business?  If you’ve been thinking about setting up a website and/or blog on your own domain (your own website) but haven’t yet taken the plunge, today is a great day to take the first step!

HostGator-Black-Friday-2013_aNu_21nov2013__336x280_2HostGator.com, one of the most well known and largest web-hosting providers out there, is offering a huge 60% off on everything today.  That means you can get a website up and running for an extremely low price.

For example:

  • You can register your new domain name for only $4.50 per year
  • You can host your new site for the next 3 years for only $71.20

It’s hard to imagine that you can register a domain, set-up your own hosting account, and publish a WordPress blog for the next three years for about $75.00 – but you can.  That’s the beauty of Black Friday I guess.

We’ve had websites hosted with Hostgator for about three years now and know them pretty well. Here’s what we would recommend them for: small/new WordPress blogs and basic business websites AND/OR reseller hosting for web/blog design shops who want to host for their clients.  They have great customer service available 24/7, a huge and helpful how-to and support section of their website, and all the features you need to get started with your own website such as easy email setup (you@yourdomain.com) and one-click WordPress installation.

For most Etsy Sellers, the most simple setup works fine… just one domain name and one WordPress installation.  For that, you can use the hatchling plan for less than $2.00 a month.

If you want to get into running multiple sites on more than one domain, you need the Baby Plan, which is a little more at $3.18 per month if you pay 36 months in advance or $3.99/mo if you do one year. The 60% off applies to whatever you pay for today, so it makes sense to pay in advance.  If you cancel early, you can get a refund.

The Coupon Code is: BF2013

Once you get your account set-up, getting a WordPress blog going is easy! You just log-in to your cPanel, find the “QuickInstall” tool and select WordPress.  It’s not much more complicated than that, but if you have any questions feel free to leave them here in the comments and we’ll try to point you in the right direction.

Get Your Own Website Today!

The first step, is head over to HostGator and get going.  During the checkout process, there are a few “extras”.  They have some value, but if you’re on a super-tight budget and you want to do this as inexpensively as possible, you can easily get by without any of the extras.

Enjoy!

Disclosure: As long term customers of HostGator ourselves, we are eligible to receive a “finders fee” when we send new customers over. It’s called “affiliate marketing” and it’s a great way to make money from your blog recommending things you would recommend anyway! All the more reason to start your blog today!

Hi! I’m starting with the HostGator but unfortunately my knowledge is not enough. I guess my difficulty is that I have already domain. I have tried so many times but just can’t do it right to get there where I should add {username: admin} and the password I have received. I would really appreciate your help! x Teje

You should get a welcome email from HostGator and the email should have a link in it which you click on to go to your account administration area. HostGator has a very helpful online live chat which can usually help with most problems within just a few minutes. If you can’t find the login screen for your account, I would try asking them on the live chat. You can also call the technical support phone number if you prefer to speak to someone.
