Felt Bows {Simple Packaging Ideas}

simple packaging ideas ~ felt bows! EverythingEtsy.com

These would be perfect for a Sweet 16 Birthday, Christmas or Easter!  I love looking to the simple things to make wrapping & gift-giving just a little bit easier!

If you’re looking for a quick & easy way to add some color plus cuteness {it’s all about cute factor} to your packages, these bows are the perfect DIY … and even better, it’s an easy way to use up some of your scraps that have been hangin’ around, bonus! Let’s start …

photo 1

Make a template out of cardstock or heavy paper (i used a ruler to draw a 3.5 x 2.25 rectangle, then rounded the ends) trace onto felt and cut. Cut another strip of felt, long enough to wrap around the middle of the bow (mine was approx. 2 inches)

collage 1

1 ~ Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise, then fold those ends back towards the middle so it’s        pinched, hot glue inside both slots on the back side (image 1 ~ front)

2 ~ Dab some hot glue on the bottom of the pinch and attach the strip (image 2 ~ front)

3 ~ Wrap it around to the back of the bow, hot glue closed (image 3 ~ back)

Add a small clothespin with hot glue again and you’re done!

Wrap up some gifts all nice and pretty and attach! I made a big batch in no time, to have on hand with my other Christmas packaging … these cute & easy projects make wrapping all those presents fun! right?!

    I love this idea! I just bought a new glue gun and have been dying to try it out. This will surely be my first project with it.
