St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Felt Necklace Tutorial on Everything Etsy

St. Patrick’s Day will be here before you know it!  Get into the spirit of this fun holiday and create a felt shamrock necklace!  This is a simple DIY project that looks like a million bucks…or at least a pot of gold.

Use the simple printable pattern to create a necklace full of shamrocks or a sweet pair of earrings.

Here’s how you can create one for yourself…

Making a shamrock necklace on EverythingEtsy.com

Supplies:

  • Wool felt
  • Gold chain
  • Gold findings
  • Gold Metallic Embroidery Floss
  • Embroidery Needle
  • Sharp Scissors
  • Jewelry pliers
  • Jewelry wire cutting tool

Cut out two shamrocks using your shamrock pattern.  Then use your gold embroidery floss to backstitch all the way around the shamrock.  {watch my how to backstitch video here}

Trim the floss and trim around the outside of the shamrock to make the shape just right.

Using a small hole punch I made a hole at the top of my shamrock.

I added a couple finding and attached it to the chain using my jewelry making pliers.

Then I picked the perfect length of chain, cut it and added the clasp.
