<p><strong>Linda from </strong><a href="http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net/"><strong>Craftaholics Anonymous</strong></a><strong> just created this crisp, clean and completely awesome craft room of her very own.</strong>  Wow!  Wouldn’t you like to be her neighbor?  I would.  I could bring my own supplies and hang out there anytime!</p>
<p>Did you notice the yellow chandelier?  I’m a sucker for a spray painted chandelier and I think every room should have one…at least in my dream world.  My boys would never go for that idea!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/craftroom2.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="craft-room2" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/craftroom2_thumb.jpg" alt="craft-room2" width="470" height="705" border="0" /></a></p>
<p>This stenciled wall is way cool {thanks to her husband} and looks even better with the pop of color around the room.  I love her color selection, but if you read <a href="http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net/2011/11/my-craft-room.html">Craftaholics Anonymous</a> you would know that she has killer decorating skills!</p>
<p><strong>The colorful inspiration board is crafted from an old crib spring…LOVE IT!  </strong></p>

<p>Linda did a fabulous job planning her craft room and it seems perfectly functional and beautiful at the same time.  There’s plenty of room and great details.</p>
<p>To read the whole post and see all the beautiful photos of this lovely crafter’s paradise, just <a href="http://www.craftaholicsanonymous.net/2011/11/my-craft-room.html">click here</a>.</p>
<p>You might want to grab a cup of coffee or tea first because you’ll get lost for awhile on her creative blog…trust me!</p>
<p><strong>What’s your favorite part of this crafty space? </strong></p>

<p>There’s a chill in the air this morning and <strong>I am dreaming about beautiful quilts!</strong>  There’s something about the time and care that goes into a quilt, not to mention the fabulous fabric, that really makes them a treasure.</p>
<p>I actually don’t have much quilting ability, but I did manage to make a super simple quilt last year and it has turned out to be a family favorite.  One day I’ll have to take some classes or talk someone into to teaching me how to make beautiful quilts like in the ones in this post.</p>
<p>I’m constantly in awe over quilter’s ability to mix fabric of all different colors and patterns and come up with stunning results.  <strong>Quilts are simply a work of art.</strong>  Oh, and the keep you cozy at the same time…awesome!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Quilt3.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="Quilt 3" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Quilt3_thumb.jpg" alt="Quilt 3" width="470" height="705" border="0" /></a></p>
<p>You can find all the details about this lovely quilt over at <a href="http://www.aspoonfulofsugardesigns.com/2011/01/quilt-for-sarah.html" target="_blank">A Spoonful of Sugar</a>.  Great colors!!!</p>

</p><p>The thought of having every little crafty bit of paper, string and fabric all organized and ready when a moment of creativity strikes…oh, what a dream.</p>
<p><strong>Organizing supplies always gives me new ideas</strong> and makes me realize what cool stuff I already have available.  Sometimes I should just shop around my own closet before heading out to the store!  Am I the only one that ends up with 5 rolls of white ribbon???  I think not.</p>
<p><strong>Fabric is one of the biggest challenges!!!</strong></p>
<p>Take a look at these creative ways to organize fabric without adding on a room…</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/rethinkdesignstudiosfabrics.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="rethinkdesignstudiosfabrics" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/rethinkdesignstudiosfabrics_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="rethinkdesignstudiosfabrics" width="400" height="600" /></a></p>
<p>Those little chalkboard tags make all the difference, don’t you think?!  <strong>I wish I could wake up tomorrow to this in my house!</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/0510warner09officemodernorganizedde2.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="0510-warner-09-office-modern-organized-de (2)" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/0510warner09officemodernorganizedde2_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="0510-warner-09-office-modern-organized-de (2)" width="440" height="562" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Style &amp; organization!</strong> These modern metal baskets rock…they sure beat my worn out old wicker ones!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/16fillyourjarswithprettiness.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="16 - fill your jars with prettiness." src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/16fillyourjarswithprettiness._thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="16 - fill your jars with prettiness." width="470" height="352" /></a></p>
<p>There’s always a problem when you don’t want to throw away beautiful scraps of fabric.  <a href="http://ilikeorangetoo.blogspot.com/2011/06/sunday-school-for-sewing-pretty-scrap.html">I Like Orange</a> has an awesome solution.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/jars.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="jars." src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/jars._thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="jars." width="470" height="352" /></a></p>
<p>Sorting in jars with like colors and covering the lid with matching fabric is <strong>super smart, easy and cheap!! </strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/DSC05293.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="DSC05293" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/DSC05293_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="DSC05293" width="470" height="313" /></a></p>
<p>If you have a bunch of fabric {oh, I wish} around you might want to try <strong>organizing with foam boards</strong>.  You can easily secure your fabric right to the board with stick pins.  <a href="http://maluukkonen.blogspot.com/">The Little Green Bean</a> shares all the creative details.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/fabricstorage.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="fabric storage" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/fabricstorage_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="fabric storage" width="470" height="311" /></a></p>
<p>One of my favorites from <a href="http://hollysstreet.blogspot.com/2009/07/fabric-organization.html">Holly’s Street</a>!  Whoa…that’s all I can say!</p>

<p>You might not have space for a sewing room, but I bet you might have the space it takes for a <strong>dreamy sewing table</strong> like this one!</p>
<p>I’m one of those crafty people that likes to do a little of every kind of craft I can think of and I only use my sewing machine for some of them.  A little sewing table or desk is perfect for me!</p>
<p>This <a href="http://catarinaregina.tumblr.com/post/1449114761/by-heidi-folk-city">sewing space</a> is just BEAUTIFUL!!!!  I love everything about it!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/tumblr_l5kh4iNwQj1qa0gddo1_500.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border-width: 0px;" title="tumblr_l5kh4iNwQj1qa0gddo1_500" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/tumblr_l5kh4iNwQj1qa0gddo1_500_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="tumblr_l5kh4iNwQj1qa0gddo1_500" width="440" height="660" /></a></p>
<p><strong>How about sewing in this lovely little area?</strong> The natural light is awesome!!  The plants are awesome!  Oh, and the colors are awesome! {Yes, I am a child of the 80s…totally!}</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/76120111_kJt08knq_c.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border-width: 0px;" title="76120111_kJt08knq_c" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/76120111_kJt08knq_c_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="76120111_kJt08knq_c" width="400" height="565" /></a></p>
<p>Just a corner of a room can be transformed into a <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/denbow/5966074686/in/photostream/">sweet little space</a>…<strong>how creative</strong>!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/68367368_hsQzcv88_c.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border-width: 0px;" title="68367368_hsQzcv88_c" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/68367368_hsQzcv88_c_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="68367368_hsQzcv88_c" width="440" height="664" /></a></p>
<p>I love red and I think I’ve always owned a red car…starting with a ‘65 Mustang.  <strong>This red desk rocks!!!</strong> You’ll find out how this space all came together <a href="http://www.u-createcrafts.com/2011/07/creative-guest-crate-box-decor-by-36th.html">right here</a>.</p>
<p>It doesn’t take a whole room to create a fabulous space to have an inspiring sewing area.  <strong>Do you have a favorite?</strong></p>
<p>~Kim</p>

</p><p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabricbuttons1.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="embroidered fabric buttons 1" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabricbuttons1_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="embroidered fabric buttons 1" width="470" height="325" /></a></p>
<p>Don’t use plain buttons for your next project!  <strong>Making fabric covered buttons is one on the quickest projects</strong> I’ve done and I never seem to get bored with it!</p>
<p><em>These buttons are perfect for those fabric scraps you’ve been stashing in the closet.</em> You can even upcycle an unwanted sweater with snazzy embroidered flowers and create unique buttons to add to your bag, bracelet or sweater.</p>
<p>A few years ago when I first started making <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/74277278/fabric-covered-button-ponytail-holders" target="_blank">fabric covered buttons</a> I couldn’t find a tutorial on how to do it, so I thought I share this little tidbit of knowledge with all of you.</p>
<p>This is one of those simple projects that gives back sooo much satisfaction when you finish. <strong> Please don’t blame me for your new button making addiction, okay?!</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabricbuttonsupplies1.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="embroidered fabric button supplies 1" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabricbuttonsupplies1_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="embroidered fabric button supplies 1" width="470" height="352" /></a></p>
<p><strong>You’ll need a few things…</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>These are size 45 buttons…get a bunch. {1 1/8”}</li>
<li>When you <a href="http://shop.kimberlylayton.com/products/Button-Making-Kit-%252d-Size-45-%7B1-1%7B47%7D8%22%7D.html" target="_blank">purchase a button kit</a>, you’ll get a button making tool…you’ll need it.  I can’t imagine trying to make them without the tool.</li>
<li>old sweaters or fabric</li>
<li>loaded glue gun</li>
<li>scissors {these are my amazingly <a href="http://shop.kimberlylayton.com/products/Ouchless-Scissors.html" target="_blank">cool scissors</a>}</li>
<li>embroidery floss</li>
<li>embroidery needle</li>
</ul>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroderedfabriccoveredbuttons1.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="embrodered fabric covered buttons 1" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroderedfabriccoveredbuttons1_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="embrodered fabric covered buttons 1" width="470" height="362" /></a></p>
<p>Take the larger, white part of the tool and place it on your fabric.  Cut a <strong>wide circle</strong> around it.  It doesn’t have to be perfect…at least that the way I do it.  There are little people that will give you little templates to use, but this is the fastest way… a.k.a. my way. <img src='http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial" width="470" height="352" /></a></p>
<p>Once you have your circle, place the top of your button on there to check for placement of your embroidered flower.  This also gives you a visual idea of how small your embroidered flower needs to be…pretty small, huh?</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial2.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial 2" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial2_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial 2" width="470" height="352" /></a></p>
<p>The wool blend sweater I’m working with will stretch, so this is what it looks like before I start.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial3.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial 3" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial3_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial 3" width="470" height="352" /></a></p>
<p>Put your design face down with the top button on…well, the top.  Then center and push it into the white part of your tool.</p>
<p>This size button works easily, but smaller buttons will require the use of the <strong>blue pusher part</strong> of the tool…<em>I use such sophisticated names, don’t I? </em></p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial4.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial 4" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial4_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial 4" width="470" height="352" /></a></p>
<p>Depending on the colors and design, sometimes I can peek at the bottom and tell if it’s centered.  Most of the times it is….but not always.  Just pull the button top back out and yell “do over” and center it right this time.</p>
<p><strong>Here’s the tricky part…trimming.</strong> Trim away extra fabric while leaving enough to fold down into the button.  Thicker material like this sweater are much harder than regular cotton fabrics.  I would suggest using cotton for your first couple buttons until you get the hang of it.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial5.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial 5" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial5_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial 5" width="470" height="352" /></a></p>
<p>I add a couple drops of hot glue.  I don’t know if I really need to, but it makes me feel better.   You could also use a dab of E6000 craft glue…it’s up to you.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial6.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial 6" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabriccoveredbuttontutorial6_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="embroidered fabric covered button tutorial 6" width="470" height="343" /></a></p>
<p>Now, just fold the fabric in and scrunch it down with the back of the button and your blue tool…make a sandwich.</p>
<p><strong>Use caution because of the hot glue you added…remember that?</strong> Well, you will remember as soon as your finger touches it and it sticks to you.</p>
<p>Push down evenly until you hear the button pop into place.  You made a fabric covered button!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/finishedupcycledsweaterwoolbutton.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="finished upcycled sweater wool button" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/finishedupcycledsweaterwoolbutton_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="finished upcycled sweater wool button" width="470" height="352" /></a></p>
<p>Oh my, look at how talented and crafty you are today!  Just make sure you don’t have fabric sticking up along the edges.  It should all be locked down under the back of the button for a finished look.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabricbuttons3.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="embroidered fabric buttons 3" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/embroideredfabricbuttons3_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="embroidered fabric buttons 3" width="470" height="354" /></a></p>
<p>Now, start thinking of all the places you can use these fabulous new buttons.  They make great accessories and fabulous gifts.  Have fun!</p>
<p>If you have any questions, just email me.</p>
<p><strong>I’d love to hear about any button projects you’ve made or plan to make…come on, share your ideas with us.</strong> <img src='http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>~Kim</p>
<p>Note:  These buttons are a bit on the unusual side because you can see the silver shine through.  I thought it would be fun to try that out, but you can see what cotton fabric looks like <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/74277278/fabric-covered-button-ponytail-holders">here</a>.  It covers it perfectly.</p>
<p>Be sure to check out the comments for some great tips!</p>

</p><p>Vanessa from <a href="http://punkinpattern.blogspot.com/">Punkin Patterns</a> created a Sweet Tooth Pouch that’s SUPER CUTE!  I want one!  They make great gifts for kids of all ages and once you see this wonderful tutorial you’ll be running to the store to buy a bag full of candy.</p>
<p>Here’s Vanessa…</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/DSC066191.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="DSC06619 (1)" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/DSC066191_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="DSC06619 (1)" width="470" height="352" /></a></p>
<p>We don&#8217;t normally have a lot of candy in the house.  Well, the Halloween candy (at least nothing with chocolate &#8211; because that&#8217;s all eaten within hours) is still in a jar in the kitchen cupboard.  This little project was inspired by my son who asks for candy from the brightly colored packages at the checkout at Target.</p>
<p>So, here&#8217;s a little &#8220;sweet tooth&#8221; pouch.</p>
<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-vNSQiWv16iw/TX4zFX57sAI/AAAAAAAACHo/NTivislVCUQ/s1600/DSC06636.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-vNSQiWv16iw/TX4zFX57sAI/AAAAAAAACHo/NTivislVCUQ/s640/DSC06636.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="470" height="352" /></a></p>
<p>You&#8217;ll need two candy pouches &#8211; I used skittles and M&amp;Ms.  You could use candy bars too (you just might need more than one per side to make it a bit bigger).</p>
<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-IOG1XBLKfco/TX4zOkH-iNI/AAAAAAAACII/MDA0vtjhwlY/s1600/DSC06569.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-IOG1XBLKfco/TX4zOkH-iNI/AAAAAAAACII/MDA0vtjhwlY/s400/DSC06569.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>You&#8217;ll also need:</p>
<ul>
<li>iron-on vinyl</li>
<li>a zipper (7 &#8211; 9&#8243; works well)</li>
<li>two pieces of fabric for lining (each should be the size of your candy wrapper).</li>
<li>thread, sewing machine, zipper foot, iron, X-acto knife</li>
</ul>
<p>First, we&#8217;ll put the vinyl onto our candy wrappers.  Carefully remove the back of the candy wrapper leaving the top piece fully intact.</p>
<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Dkn0JaQCQMo/TX4zGIGEZOI/AAAAAAAACHs/IdkaPDmc910/s1600/DSC06523.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Dkn0JaQCQMo/TX4zGIGEZOI/AAAAAAAACHs/IdkaPDmc910/s400/DSC06523.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Cut two pieces of vinyl slightly larger than the wrapper.  Peel off the paper backing and stick to the front of the wrapper, smoothing out with your fingers.</p>
<p><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-gP6ZjW5Uw8o/TX4zIT3q5YI/AAAAAAAACH4/FWsL-BihrMM/s1600/DSC06549.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-gP6ZjW5Uw8o/TX4zIT3q5YI/AAAAAAAACH4/FWsL-BihrMM/s400/DSC06549.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="298" /></a></p>
<p>Using a clean rag (or ironing cloth), iron the vinyl for 8-10 seconds on medium heat.  Repeat for the other side.  Trim any excess vinyl.  Repeat for the other wrapper.</p>
<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-KWraHoMdopI/TX4zLDvggiI/AAAAAAAACIA/KV2zMRrClUs/s1600/DSC06558.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-KWraHoMdopI/TX4zLDvggiI/AAAAAAAACIA/KV2zMRrClUs/s400/DSC06558.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Now that you have your wrappers covered in vinyl, we&#8217;ll assemble the pouch.</p>
<p><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-8c6r_CkxyHw/TX4zM0LwUSI/AAAAAAAACIE/qYyhK7E1iLo/s1600/DSC06560.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-8c6r_CkxyHw/TX4zM0LwUSI/AAAAAAAACIE/qYyhK7E1iLo/s400/DSC06560.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Place your lining fabric right side up and then place the zipper on top matching the edges.  Zipper should be facing up, as in the photo.</p>
<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JMEbFI2lTYs/TX4zQNIQT7I/AAAAAAAACIM/BsyIGEx_hcc/s1600/DSC06574.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JMEbFI2lTYs/TX4zQNIQT7I/AAAAAAAACIM/BsyIGEx_hcc/s400/DSC06574.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Place the wrapper on top (right side down).</p>
<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-wUj6ImBdwBA/TX4zR1kJxRI/AAAAAAAACIQ/v0INmyPJRT8/s1600/DSC06575.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-wUj6ImBdwBA/TX4zR1kJxRI/AAAAAAAACIQ/v0INmyPJRT8/s400/DSC06575.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Increase your stitch length and using a zipper foot, sew along the length of the zipper.</p>
<p><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vuvvwVLuxIc/TX4zTeklshI/AAAAAAAACIU/DcLXcqjNvfo/s1600/DSC06584.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vuvvwVLuxIc/TX4zTeklshI/AAAAAAAACIU/DcLXcqjNvfo/s400/DSC06584.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Fold over the front and lining (so wrong sides are now touching) and add the other piece of lining and wrapper to the other side of the zipper.<br />
Now the top looks like this:</p>
<p><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-W9jyHAQr0IA/TX4zU1MmMjI/AAAAAAAACIY/GpOosB5VuE8/s1600/DSC06588.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-W9jyHAQr0IA/TX4zU1MmMjI/AAAAAAAACIY/GpOosB5VuE8/s400/DSC06588.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>and the other side looks like this:</p>
<p><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-7LYeN8vBl6E/TX4zWnLUrnI/AAAAAAAACIc/XlVRgI0UXnc/s1600/DSC06589.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-7LYeN8vBl6E/TX4zWnLUrnI/AAAAAAAACIc/XlVRgI0UXnc/s400/DSC06589.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Now fold the bag so the the lining is touching and the wrappers are touching (right sides together) like this:</p>
<p><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-AGV6BQHRTbU/TX4zX3i_x-I/AAAAAAAACIg/pyOQMLAhpEQ/s1600/DSC06591.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-AGV6BQHRTbU/TX4zX3i_x-I/AAAAAAAACIg/pyOQMLAhpEQ/s400/DSC06591.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RLauveY9w_o/TX4zYweJ72I/AAAAAAAACIk/dHRvCoV2DAY/s1600/DSC06594.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RLauveY9w_o/TX4zYweJ72I/AAAAAAAACIk/dHRvCoV2DAY/s400/DSC06594.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Starting with the lining, sew around the bag.<br />
Make sure you pull the zipper partway open so you can turn it inside out later.</p>
<p><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-9-2x0yBAbQQ/TX4zatAoi0I/AAAAAAAACIo/_zSnqK7yNsI/s1600/DSC06598.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-9-2x0yBAbQQ/TX4zatAoi0I/AAAAAAAACIo/_zSnqK7yNsI/s400/DSC06598.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>When you get to a zipper, make sure it&#8217;s &#8220;pushed&#8221; toward the lining.</p>
<p><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-sqA55cplgRE/TX4zcZM93RI/AAAAAAAACIs/UFJS_QwK2UY/s1600/DSC06599.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-sqA55cplgRE/TX4zcZM93RI/AAAAAAAACIs/UFJS_QwK2UY/s400/DSC06599.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-6nvVBS3d6_A/TX4zdb9abHI/AAAAAAAACIw/27giFSmuzf0/s1600/DSC06601.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-6nvVBS3d6_A/TX4zdb9abHI/AAAAAAAACIw/27giFSmuzf0/s400/DSC06601.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="298" /></a></p>
<p>Continue around the bag, leaving a large opening at the bottom for turning. <em> A large opening is best (even larger than pictured below).  The vinyl wrapper is a bit stiff and difficult to fit through a small opening.</em></p>
<p><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-uaLuWgNVe8g/TX4zeZOcWwI/AAAAAAAACI0/BSmjHdUQCAg/s1600/DSC06606.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-uaLuWgNVe8g/TX4zeZOcWwI/AAAAAAAACI0/BSmjHdUQCAg/s400/DSC06606.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Trim the extra zipper bits and trim the corners (turning points).</p>
<p><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-CvxyBrV1WvE/TX4zfe9KN-I/AAAAAAAACI4/TB_JAgovn4U/s1600/DSC06607.JPG"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-CvxyBrV1WvE/TX4zfe9KN-I/AAAAAAAACI4/TB_JAgovn4U/s400/DSC06607.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="400" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>Carefully turn the bag right side out.  Sew up the bottom of the lining (by hand or machine) and tuck it into the pouch.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t forget to have your little one fill it with treasures &#8211; a favorite car, a new library card and of course, a frog.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-CenLY41nuII/TX4zCAp7ohI/AAAAAAAACHc/BdI3jWAk0Wg/s1600/DSC06633.JPG"><img class="aligncenter" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-CenLY41nuII/TX4zCAp7ohI/AAAAAAAACHc/BdI3jWAk0Wg/s640/DSC06633.JPG" border="0" alt="" width="576" height="439" /></a></p>

<p><strong>Let me introduce you to Bari J. Ackerman!</strong> She’s a fantastic fabric designer, quilting queen, sewing fanatic, embroidery whiz and all around creative gal!</p>
<p>Bari is one of my favorite fabric designers because she uses lots and lots of happy colors and flowers.  You can’t go wrong with that!  Her fabric makes me want to conquer my quilt making fears.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/6a00d8347b268b53ef014e86231f23970d450wi.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border-width: 0px;" title="6a00d8347b268b53ef014e86231f23970d-450wi" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/6a00d8347b268b53ef014e86231f23970d450wi_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="6a00d8347b268b53ef014e86231f23970d-450wi" width="470" height="535" /></a></p>
<p>I keep finding myself lost on her blog long enough to realize that I had to share it with all of you.  You know how it is when your coffee gets cold because you forgot you had it…or maybe that just happens to me. Ha!  Well, this is a blog that will do that to you!</p>
<p>When you visit <a href="http://barij.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">Bari’s blog</a> full of beautiful photos you’ll get a peek at her upcoming fabric line {Paris Apartment}, and don’t miss the office chair from Target that she covered for herself! <strong> You will want to make one instantly! </strong></p>
<p>Here are a few more things you might not know about Bari…</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/6a00d8347b268b53ef0147e1555bca970b800wi.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border-width: 0px;" title="6a00d8347b268b53ef0147e1555bca970b-800wi" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/6a00d8347b268b53ef0147e1555bca970b800wi_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="6a00d8347b268b53ef0147e1555bca970b-800wi" width="470" height="597" /></a></p>
<p>Bari’s book was released at the beginning of this year and the photos are so inspiring!  You can get your own copy on from her online store.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/6a00d8347b268b53ef0148c75f2530970c450wi.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border-width: 0px;" title="6a00d8347b268b53ef0148c75f2530970c-450wi" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/6a00d8347b268b53ef0148c75f2530970c450wi_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="6a00d8347b268b53ef0148c75f2530970c-450wi" width="470" height="705" /></a></p>
<p>While you’re waiting for your book to arrive you can make another project.  She’ll show you how to make a <a href="http://www.barij.typepad.com/gardenteaparty_barij_final2.pdf">Garden Party Quilt</a> that’s out-of-this-world beautiful!</p>
<p><a href="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/6a00d8347b268b53ef0148c83ed262970c450wi.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="6a00d8347b268b53ef0148c83ed262970c-450wi" src="http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/6a00d8347b268b53ef0148c83ed262970c450wi_thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="6a00d8347b268b53ef0148c83ed262970c-450wi" width="470" height="470" /></a>This is one of the <strong>cute little zippy bags</strong> that she’s been creating lately…love them.  The colors make me smile! <img src='http://www.everythingetsy.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>You can find all of these one-of-a-kind creations in <a href="http://www.barijonline.com/index.html">her store</a>.  I keep going back to see her latest designs and dream about having a different one for every day of the week.</p>
