We are talking about organizing our supplies this month, and I found an awesome Etsy shop with the best knitting & crochet organizers you’ve ever seen.

Once you take a good look at these you are going to be hooked!

Madbird creates organizers, wallets, and totes with beautiful fabric to suit your style.

Now’s the time to organize those hooks or needles and look good at the same time…that’s important, ya know. These are sure to make your crafty friends jealous!

This handmade knitting/crochet organizer is made with Alexander Henry’s Spotted Owl fabric…way too cute!!!

Here’s the description to give you a better idea of their quality…

All of my organizers are made of soft cotton fabrics inside and out. They have a layer of batting in between the cotton. That’s because some ladies invest in gorgeous bamboo hooks and needles – those beauties need the added protection. Even if your tools are metal, the batting makes these organizers more substantial, soft, and just better. Their pockets are also lined for durability. Store your dpns, hooks, notions, and even a circular or two in one of these!

Each organizer has 2 rows of 8 pockets (16 total). They are approximately 9″ tall x 13″ wide with the top flap folded down. Fold in thirds, and close with the toggle. No ties to fuss with, or belts to fasten. Awesome!

Well, I’m going to have to go ahead and tell you that this is my absolute favorite item in Madbird right here! It’s a Project Bag Square. You really have to go see all the photos of this bag!

Sampler Village offers a great way to sample wonderful handmade goodies from so many creative Etsy sellers.  It’s all wrapped up in one beautiful box!

Traci sent me a sampler box of my very own to review. Well, it was like getting 16 presents in the mail at once. It was so much fun!

Here’s a sample of my samples…Ha!

I was pleasantly surprised at these die cuts with a Victorian flair. Victorian Mercantile Store is an Etsy shop full of stickers, die cuts, prints, greeting cards, and much more.

This sample from SBS Teas made me want to brew a cup of tea to drink while taking a bubble bath. It smells wonderful!

I think  this cupcake mini bath bomb from Bath Talk is adorable, and I might have to just display it by the tub for awhile before I use it!

There was also amazing smelling soap from Cassias Garden that found its way to my shower before I could take a photo.

We are going to kick off our month of organization with something that has helped me organize this…

Yes, this is my mess of ribbon and other goodies that I have been collecting. Do you have anything that might look like this in your craft collection? {Please say you do!} The spools they were on started to get on my nerves, so I though I would take them all off the spools and store them in a big jar…NOT MY BEST IDEA EVER!

I was researching my upcoming post on organizing ribbon and I found something really neat…

Ribbon Rings!

Ribbon Rings are a great way to organize and store your ribbon. They’re perfect for small spaces and it keeps your ribbon in excellent condition. I’ve just started to sort out my mess of ribbon and add them onto the rings. It’s so easy…anyone could do it!!!

Most of my ribbon is small and I can put two ribbons on each tag. I even found out it would work with some of my funky little fringe. Oh, I like these and I think you will, too!

It’ll even make it easier for me to remember what colors I already have when I’m planning a project. I’ve been know to purchase more and find out I already had something just like it at home…I told you, organization is needed around here!

You can hang ribbon rings in a closet, the wall, a door knob, or even the back of your chair! Do whatever works for you, but at least your ribbon won’t be all tangled up or stashed in a box where you can’t see it.

I think you might enjoy your own set or two of these cool ribbon rings!

I kept my jar to stash a few odds and ends and tiny scraps of ribbon.

Have you ever been in someone’s house and noticed an unusual clock that really made the room look great? Sometimes it’s the small things in a home that really bring everything together in a comfortable but stylish way. Isn’t this clock fun? It was featured in a book about buttons this past April.

You can find this beauty at All About The Buttons. Shop owner, Barbra, has decided to part with it now and you can own your very own clock that’s been published…neat!

As you might have guessed, everything in the shop has buttons! There are lots and lots of buttons used to decorate clocks, pins, and so much more. How creative!

This clock would look wonderful in a nursery for a boy or girl. Animal buttons are placed at 3, 6, 9, and 12. Wouldn’t it make a great one-of-a-kind baby shower gift? You know it would!

Barbra also has another Etsy shop,  All About the Fiber, with beautiful little purses just the right size for gift cards, business cards, or your cell phone. It really is all about the fiber in this shop.

I love linen and this little hoop with an embroidered flower is just adorable! It would look great hanging in your office or kitchen.

Home Sewn by Kaari Meng is the newest addition to my craft book collection. There are 30 projects included for every room of the house, and you’ll have trouble deciding which one to create first! Trust me!

Aren’t the photos beautiful? I love pretty photos! Anyway, the reason I picked up this book in the first place is because I’m planning a bedspread for our room, and I want to make it fabulous! She used linen and hemp fabric on many of her projects. We have different styles, but the simple designs and fabrics are what I’m interested in using.

Doesn’t this headboard look great? She even made the bedding…and it’s reversible…love that! Have you ever thought about making custom sheets? I never had until I read this book, and now I realize just how pretty sheets can be. It makes mine seem super boring.

Projects are rated from easy to advanced and I feel like I can do most of the projects in this book…awesome!

There are patterns and directions for each of the 30 projects. I think it’s a great value in a beautiful package. Even if the fabrics don’t work for you, the designs are universal and easy to make.

Home Sewn even has pretty ideas for outside! I love the look of this scalloped tablecloth, but it might be a little challenging for me. Check out those perfect corners.

I can’t wait to get started on some of these projects, and I know anyone that loves home decor could go a little crazy with all the ideas in here. The designs are so simple, but beautiful. Let me know if you have any questions about the book. I’d be glad to talk to you about it more. I have a house full of boys and they don’t find my excitement about window treatments too interesting!

Look what I made! Yes, I’ve been on a bit of a sewing kick around here. When Venezie Designs announced a new apron pattern I was excited to be a tester.

Here’s the new pattern…

The Carmella Hostess Apron!

Isn’t it beautiful? Karen has worked so hard getting this pattern just right, and she always comes up with the prettiest fabric combinations for her projects. Venezie Designs has fabulous patterns that are easy to follow and they turn out looking like a million bucks. Isn’t that really what you want in a pattern?

I love the straps on the Melrose Tote. It’s a great project to use some of those fantastic new designer fabrics to create a one-of-a-kind beauty.

My family always lovingly picks on me when I bring out my sewing machine. Maybe it’s because I only sew every few years or so. Well, I’m trying to change that, and I actually remembered how to work everything on it this time around…that’s progress!

If you are new to sewing you can make this beautiful apron without any trouble. I did it in one evening. I meant to have the larger print on top, but I got confused when I was at the fabric store. One of the sheets to the test pattern got left on my printer somehow and I didn’t know how long to make the sash. I found it the next day. I guess it is a little funny around here when I start sewing!
