This is a dream craft studio for sure! Working with these colors all around you would make anyone feel like creating something beautiful.  I know I could work in here all day and night!

The perfect shade of blue on the walls and all that fabric stacked just so, make me want to learn to sew! And I have no idea what I would do with all this fabric, but just looking at it works for me.

The one area would be enough for me, but look at the rest of this amazing room. Wow! Honestly…I’m in love!

Each area is just as beautiful as the next. Yet, it’s not just a pretty room, it’s functional!  The nice, large tables give you plenty of room to work.

Jenny has a beautiful craft studio that you can see more of on her blog, Allsorts! Everything she makes is such eye candy.

I couldn’t show you her studio without telling you about some of the neat things in her Etsy shop, Loopsies.  It’s full of very cute things.

She just finished making this beautiful embroidery set…The Wedding.

Jenny B. Harris is also a children’s book illustrator.

She’s an all-around amazingly talented person, that’s what she is!

Maybe there’s some idea in her beautiful room that would work for your craft area.  It doesn’t matter how big of a space you have to work with, you can still make it beautiful!  A splash of color in your room  is sure to make crafting more fun!

What a fabulous time for shopping on Etsy! The selection can’t be beat and everyone loves handmade gifts.  I found a few holiday goodies that are sure to bring a bit of cheer to your home during this holiday season!

I’m in a cooking mood!  I’ve brought all all my cookbooks and selected wonderful recipes for this weekend!  You know, the not-so-ordinary kind of recipes…I’m trying to spice up our menu a bit.

We are talking about organizing our supplies this month, and I found an awesome Etsy shop with the best knitting & crochet organizers you’ve ever seen.

Once you take a good look at these you are going to be hooked!

Madbird creates organizers, wallets, and totes with beautiful fabric to suit your style.

Now’s the time to organize those hooks or needles and look good at the same time…that’s important, ya know. These are sure to make your crafty friends jealous!

This handmade knitting/crochet organizer is made with Alexander Henry’s Spotted Owl fabric…way too cute!!!

Here’s the description to give you a better idea of their quality…

All of my organizers are made of soft cotton fabrics inside and out. They have a layer of batting in between the cotton. That’s because some ladies invest in gorgeous bamboo hooks and needles – those beauties need the added protection. Even if your tools are metal, the batting makes these organizers more substantial, soft, and just better. Their pockets are also lined for durability. Store your dpns, hooks, notions, and even a circular or two in one of these!

Each organizer has 2 rows of 8 pockets (16 total). They are approximately 9″ tall x 13″ wide with the top flap folded down. Fold in thirds, and close with the toggle. No ties to fuss with, or belts to fasten. Awesome!

Take a look at the inside of this crocket hook organizer. There’s a place for everything. No more digging around your bag for that lost hook. Did you notice the Amy Butler fabric?

Well, I’m going to have to go ahead and tell you that this is my absolute favorite item in Madbird right here! It’s a Project Bag Square. You really have to go see all the photos of this bag!

I love the fabric and the colors are perfect for me. It’s REVERSIBLE! Isn’t that neat? It stands up when it’s open. You can purchase a coordinating organizer to go with it…I could go on and on!

Fall is my favorite season but because I live in Southern California I miss all the changing colors of the trees so I decided to create a fall fiber wreath full of all my favorite colors of the season! This is one of those projects that could have many variations and make use of different materials so feel free to put your own spin on it!

Start with a styrofoam wreath and paint it in a solid color and then set it aside to dry.

While the wreath is drying use stamps, drawings of simple leaves or even a simple painted shape of a leaf on the surface of canvas or fabric.

I used my own hand carved stamps on top of Claudine Hellmuth’s Studio Sticky Back Canvas .
I love the sticky back canvas it is the perfect weight for this project and can even be printed on! Another variation could be to even print out a sheet full of leaf images!

I filled three 12×12 sheets full of leaf stamps in a variety of fall colors.

Cut out all of your leaves- its ok not be perfect with this step- just the general shape will be fine.

Take half of the leaves, peel off the backing and stick them to the wreath- these leaves will cover the ugly styrofoam. If you are not using Sticky Back Canvas simple glue your leaves to the surface of the wreath with hot glue.

Take the other half of your leaf images and layer them on top of colorful scraps of fabric or canvas. I used a variety of my hand painted scraps in my favorite fall colors.

Sew the layers together and trace the lines of the leaf images with your sewing machine. I used my machine because I LOVE the look of free motion stitches (and I am totally in love with my Bernina!) But if you do not have a sewing machine or don’t like sewing- a variation would be to glue your layers of fiber together and the use a black fabric or permanent pen to add contrasting lines to the surface of the leaf.

When you are satisfied will all of your stitching lay out all of your leaves on top of the wreath and arrange them along the surface.

Use a hot glue gun and glue your leaves onto the surface of the wreath- if you don’t have a hot glue gun, craft glue will work just fine.

Layer your leaves as you glue them down and try to build up a surface with color and size variations.

When you are finished, hang you wreath on the wall, a door or even use as a table centerpiece!

Look what I made! Yes, I’ve been on a bit of a sewing kick around here. When Venezie Designs announced a new apron pattern I was excited to be a tester.

Isn’t it beautiful? Karen has worked so hard getting this pattern just right, and she always comes up with the prettiest fabric combinations for her projects. Venezie Designs has fabulous patterns that are easy to follow and they turn out looking like a million bucks. Isn’t that really what you want in a pattern?

I love the straps on the Melrose Tote. It’s a great project to use some of those fantastic new designer fabrics to create a one-of-a-kind beauty.

My family always lovingly picks on me when I bring out my sewing machine. Maybe it’s because I only sew every few years or so. Well, I’m trying to change that, and I actually remembered how to work everything on it this time around…that’s progress!

If you are new to sewing you can make this beautiful apron without any trouble. I did it in one evening. I meant to have the larger print on top, but I got confused when I was at the fabric store. One of the sheets to the test pattern got left on my printer somehow and I didn’t know how long to make the sash. I found it the next day. I guess it is a little funny around here when I start sewing!
