Here’s a bit of workspace inspiration for you this weekend…in black & white.  These are some seriously creative spaces and I’m sure you can find an idea or two to use in your own workspace.  Black and white decor is bold, crisp and so far from ordinary.

This workspace was a regular closet…not any longer!  Grab some chalkboard paint and turn a closet into something to talk about.  Wow!

I’m sure you could gather some friends and have fun in this creative space.  The wall is crazy cool!

This industrial space is outstanding with high ceilings and all that natural light.  I love a pop of color like this yellow chair.  I want that to be my spot!

Have a small space to work with?  This awesome desk can make any space beautiful!

A corner desk…love it!

This wall of photos and storage boxes is just perfect.  It’s creative and organized!

Have you been bitten by the organizing-new-year-clean-out your-junk bug??

I have! I’ve been on a mission to simplify problem areas in our home while making our family   routines run more smoothly.  One of the projects I wanted to tackle was the ever growing number of drawers in out home that were very messy and unorganized!  I have a small vanity in our master bedroom that houses my jewelry, scarves, perfumes … you know, pretty things.

The three drawers in it however, were anything buy pretty … pretty messy & dusty.

I bought the little desk at a yard sale for $10 so it needed a ton of sanding and some paint … spray paint actually, that left over-spray and dust on the inside of the drawers.

Here’s a quick before & after … because we all love a good before & after ♥

This can be done to any drawers, shelves, even kitchen cabinets …

with fabric, scrapbook paper or even wrapping paper.

Make sure you have plenty of Mod Podge on hand along with a good paint brush or sponge brush.  I like to use the Gloss finish, it leaves a shine making it a little bit more resistant to stuff that might be in the drawers.

Working as you go, cut paper pieces to size for bottoms, sides and outsides

(if you’re crazy like me and you want the outsides of the drawers

to look cute when you pull them out)

When done, re-think your storage options.

Since you now have the prettiest drawers, pretty storage is in order!

I love to grab tea cups at thrift stores, just for those little things, like jewelry or nail polish.

If you like to crochet, scour all the free patterns on Pinterest, for nesting boxes … flexible and easy to squeeze into small spaces.

Now smile every time you open your drawers!

These certainly make me happy! … which seems to make it easier to keep tidy (smile.)

25 Ikea Hacks {DIY Home Decor}

We were at Ikea over the weekend for things to spruce up our porch. My husband practically has to give me a time limit so we don’t need two carts! I’m sure there are times when he wishes there wasn’t an Ikea near us!

Hello Everyone! I’m anything but traditional when it comes to my holiday decorating … I’m drawn to neutrals and textures, and I love changing things up a bit! So here’s an easy project that would be fun to have on a kitchen windowsill, mantle or just anywhere!

It’s a very low-cost project & you might just have everything on hand …

Start by using the hot glue to attach the yarn to the top of the jar, then continue wrapping towards the bottom. Use a little bit of glue every inch or so… (I used more hot glue at the top and bottom to make sure it was secure and to keep the yarn from sliding around)

I used a stencil to trace the letter onto the chalkboard, outlining it with a pencil, then filling it in with a chalk marker.

To make the flowers you’ll need cupcake liners & floral wire, you can whip these up in just a few minutes!

Cut your wire to desired length and fold the top over (just a half inch or so).  Poke holes into the bottom of 5-6 cupcake liners, use a little hot glue around the opening of the hole, slide the liner up the floral wire and pinch around the middle for a few seconds while the glue dries.

Keep going with all the papers until you have layers, play around with the papers to get some fullness in the flower.

Do you ever find yourself drawn to a certain color?  Red has always been a favorite of mine and lately I’ve added red here and there around my home.

I found this beautiful craft room of Ellen’s and I had to stop and take a closer look.  First of all Ellen is a super creative person and she’s an Etsy seller {Ya gotta love that}.  Second, she decorates with lots of color!  Third, she lives in New Zealand…one of my favorite spots EVER!  We seriously should be best friends!
