Let’s get organized! Whenever I organize and update my craft room I end up finding lots of beautiful supplies that I forgot about can’t wait to try. I feel much more creative working in a clean area and all those long lost supplies inspire me to get CRAFTY!

12. Take a look at these beautiful canvas storage bins I found at Holly’s Street. I use baskets for storage, but this looks so much better. Don’t you love how pretty the colors look popping out of the top? I could have some fun with this little collection of fabric!

13. Great shelves rock! Can you have too many shelves?? I think not! I could use a different section for each project I’m working on these days! It seems like I never have enough time to complete something all at one time. I know I’m not alone with that!

14. Decorate paint or soup cans with wallpaper or scrapbook paper for an simple and sweet way to add a touch of beauty to your room. {bhg.com}

15. Don’t hide your beautiful ribbon in a box! Here’s a creative way to hang rolls of ribbon…a towel holder! You could put this anywhere and it’s bound to look great! {Creating Keepsakes}

16. Cubbies make great storage…I’ll take a wall of them! You can mix and match yard sale finds and create your own unique cabinet like this one from Debee at Art as Life . I love the drawer pulls!

I’ve also seen stacked shoe organizers used to create a bunch of cubbies in small areas. Try a couple for your craft room or closet.

17. The Sometimes Crafter will show you how to make these cute fabric scrap baskets. I hate to throw away pieces I might be able to use later. They’re a great way to store some of those fabric scraps you’re saving!

18. Visit Mamie Jane’s to see the booth display she’s working on. These are paint sticks with ribbon and trim wound around and pinned. It’s so creative and a great way to keep them organized!

19. Use vintage finds for unique storage containers! Hang an old lunch box and use it for little supplies. This is a great creative space! I love the three-tier basket that’s perfect for ribbon or stamps…I seriously need one! {bhg.com}

20. Low on space? You can take a small bookcase and turn it into a craft cabinet. Check out the details at MarthaStewart.com.

21. I’d love this collection of colorful ribbon! This is one craft supply that can be really hard to control. Learn how to make this awesome ribbon organizer at Craftzine!

22. Got closet space?? Use a selection of pretty storage boxes and containers to keep supplies separated. This will keep everything easy to find when creativity strikes…that’s a good thing! {bhg.com}

22 Tips to Organize Your Craft Room

Craft supplies can take over your crafty space! I have the hardest time with supplies because I’m a seriously messy crafter! I spread stuff everywhere when I’m working on a project and cute storage ideas make a world of difference to me when it’s time to straighten up.

I thought I’d share some creative ideas I found when searching for new ways to organize my own space.

1. Painted pastel glass jars are awesome for holding all your pencils, markers and paint brushes! Check out this great tutorial at kootut murut! Reuse those old jars and make one-of-a-kind beauties like these in any color you want!

2. Craftaholics Anonymous has a beautiful new craft room and the way she organizes her fabric is FABULOUS!!! Don’t you love the way the it hangs where you can see it?! I hate to take beautiful fabric and stash it in a box or basket. This is so much more inspiring! You can see all the creative details of this crafty space here.

3. Create your own Sewing Thread Organizer! Now that’s organized!!! You should see me with my basket of thread…it’s really kinda scary. The Creative Homemaker explains all the details here.

4. Shabby Chic tin cans are one of my favorite finds ever! Check out Shabby Chic Inspired for more information on these sweet shabby organizers created from basic tin cans. They are stunning!

5. Display your supplies and keep them in reach and as pretty craft room decor at the same time…I love this look! {Lamaison d’Anna G}

6. I know you have an old frame around somewhere! Add a little paint and some hanging wooden dowels to organize your lovely stash of ribbon. You can find the instructions on Scrapbooks Etc.

7. Why didn’t I think of this?! Use letter holders for a beautiful way to store your fabric…so smart! {Design Mom – Jamie Diersing}

8. This might not hold that much but it sure looks cute! Take an old ladle, drill and hole in the handle and bend it to the perfect shape. How original! {instructions at Country Home}

9. Reusing jars is a great way to save some money! Just screw small embroidery hoops to the wall and adjust them to hold your jars tightly. Love it!

10. Shoe organizers are awesome space savers! Pens, paintbrushes and so many other craft supplies fit in those pouches and stay in an easy to reach spot.

11. Make It and Love It created these fabric covered cardboard boxes! They’re Perfect!! You’ll find more beautiful photos here.

Buttons, Ribbon & More…Craft Supply Love!

Craft supplies are beautiful and when you put them on display! All white buttons in a vintage candy machine is enough to make me yell for everyone in the house to come take a look. But, I do live in a house full of boys so they wouldn’t understand.

Seriously, who wouldn’t want this?? I love it!

{Country Living}

Just about anything can be used to display supplies, right down to the tiny ones. This is a cool way to use old spoons that don’t match or were lost in a drawer. Cute!

I recently bought some tiny clothespins and added a bit of embroidery thread to them. I’ve only wrapped three or four so far…it’s a time consuming project!

I ran across these buttons on Pinterest and I had to share them with you. I could add these to every project of mine for a year and not get tired of them.

Sometimes I find supplies that are almost too pretty to use and it helps to just display them for awhile until the right project comes along. I have a craft supply thing, for sure!

Organized Fabric Inspiration

The thought of having every little crafty bit of paper, string and fabric all organized and ready when a moment of creativity strikes…oh, what a dream.

Organizing supplies always gives me new ideas and makes me realize what cool stuff I already have available. Sometimes I should just shop around my own closet before heading out to the store! Am I the only one that ends up with 5 rolls of white ribbon??? I think not.

Fabric is one of the biggest challenges!!!

Take a look at these creative ways to organize fabric without adding on a room…

Those little chalkboard tags make all the difference, don’t you think?! I wish I could wake up tomorrow to this in my house!

Style & organization! These modern metal baskets rock…they sure beat my worn out old wicker ones!

There’s always a problem when you don’t want to throw away beautiful scraps of fabric. I Like Orange has an awesome solution.

Sorting in jars with like colors and covering the lid with matching fabric is super smart, easy and cheap!!

If you have a bunch of fabric {oh, I wish} around you might want to try organizing with foam boards. You can easily secure your fabric right to the board with stick pins. The Little Green Bean shares all the creative details.

One of my favorites from Holly’s Street! Whoa…that’s all I can say!

Creative Craft Supply Storage

It’s that time of year again! You know, when you start to think all of your craft supplies could use a little organization.

It seems like all the hustle and bustle of summer fun can leave ribbon bunched together, scrapbook paper on the table, and scissors on the other side of the house.

Well, here are a few ideas to get your craft goodies back where you can find them again!

This lovely craft area above has taken that wasted space on the inside of the cabinet doors and made it useful! Pegboard and metal attached to the inside of the doors is an awesome trick!

I adore this vintage ribbon holder I found at Holly Doodle Designs. It’s organization & beautiful craft room decor all rolled into one!

Don’t waste that wall space! I love how this beautiful {BEAUTIFUL!!!} craft area uses the space above the desk.

Take an old table, cut some holes in the top for cups, paint, add some wheels….and you have a fabulous rolling craft station! You could even roll it right into a closet when you’re not using it!

Vintage Storage on Etsy – Get Organized

Vintage Finds on Etsy…

I don’t really enjoy getting organized, do you? I’ve found that cool and unique containers make me feel better about it. It’s kinda like bribing myself…ha! Vintage containers are WAY better than those plastic ones any day of the week so go ahead and splurge on a few fun vintage finds on Etsy.

The little vintage case above is from Remixed Vintage and there’s a great variety to choose from in this shop.

598 {restoration & design} has this cool blue dresser that could hold so much fabric, art supplies, scrapbook goodies or whatever else you want to keep out of sight until you need it. I love to look at pretty craft supplies, but half used supplies and my beat up {scary looking} glue gun could really be stored somewhere.

Retro Canisters from Jaanas Vintage are just plain cool…and they add a touch of color to your room!

Vintage record bowls by Retro Grandma can hold all your little scraps or tiny trinkets while rockin’ your desk.

This beautiful Pyrex dish {Funkey Finds} got my attention. I have a thing for vintage Pyrex and this one would look great anywhere in my house!

Looking for something different? This industrial metal cabinet from Antiquity is what you need. It could hold all those little supplies with labels on the outside….WOW! How fun!

Getting Things Done {Etsy Business}

How do you stay organized? How do you keep from forgetting to pick up something you’ll need tomorrow while your out running errands? I know some of you are naturally organized…what an awesome trait.

Let me just say that organization does not come easily for me! A few years ago my husband bought this book…

It was intended to be for organizing his office. Well, it turned out that this book was so helpful that I got my own copy! {We don’t share that well…lol!}

Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress Free Productivity, by David Allenis a great book on how to organize your life.

The more you have going on, the more you’ll love this book. It promises early on that it IS possible to have amazing, incredible (enough for fifty people, I want to jump off a bridge!) amounts of work to do and still feel great, and calm, and soothed. (as I calmly relieve the force on the keyboard buttons). Shhhhhh…it’s okay.

Anyway, this is a great book and I would recommend it.

I know many of you have Etsy shops, take care of your children, make cupcakes and wash clothes daily…you might need a bit of help so I thought I would share this with you.

A Scrapbooking Storage Closet

Do you have limited space and scrapbooking supplies taking over your house?

Maybe you could turn a spare closet into something like this one. Having everything so neat and organized will make scrapbooking even more fun. Here are a few of my favorite features, and they’re all so easy to do on your own.

Using pegboard can really make the most out a space that’s usually forgotten. Adjustable shelves make things so much easier when you want to change it around a bit later on.

Put every inch of the closet to good use with cork trivets from a kitchen and bath store. They make a fun llittle bulletin board that’s perfect for inspiring ideas. Trivets are thick and can easily be mounted with foam tape.

Hanging folders are a great use of space. Organizing paper by season or color can make it easy to see what you have before you run off to the store to buy more. Hey, this is a money saving idea here! Now you can explain to your husband how this closet will save money and he should help you do it this weekend!

One Forty Three made this dog pillow that looks like her dog…that’s a creative use of scraps!

Fabric Covered Buttons from craftleftovers.com…these are always a great choice for those tiny scraps.

No Sew Flowers by Made are beautiful! They would make anyone’s day a little brighter!

This Scrap Fabric Apron on FaveCrafts.com is reversible! I love the bright fabrics she used for this one.

Craft Cabinet

Isn’t this a pretty? Keep your craft and scrapbooking supplies in a beautiful craft cabinet. Everyone needs one of these…or maybe two!

Keeping everything you need all in one spot make crafting so much more fun. You gotta be ready for when the creative mood strikes, ya know?

Organization can also keep you from buying more craft supplies because you can’t find what you need at home in your creative mess {not that I would know about that}.

Hanging pegboard up on the inside of the doors will help you get the most out of your space. Scrapbooking tools can stay out of sight in this cabinet, but still be easy to get to when you’re ready to create.

Don’t waste that space on the side! You can add a magnetic strip with containers to hold all those little embellishments. This photo shows a work-in progress pouch…not a bad idea!

Whether you keep all your craft or scrapbooking supplies in this one cabinet or you use it as part of a much larger craft room, you’ll be able to store lots of goodies in a small space while keeping it pretty!
