Sometimes, looking for supplies can cause me to lose my creative thinking before I even get started. Here’s a list of very easy solutions…maybe one will be just what you need to get your supplies beautifully organized.

1. Organizing markers, pencils, and other small supplies while still keeping them in reach. Try a vintage drink caddy and a colorful tray…they look great together!

2. If your only need a few pencils on your desk, try a beautiful toothbrush holder. And maybe a matching soap dish for your business cards. Isn’t that a cute idea?

3. This under-the-shelf wine and stemware rack is a stylish way to stash those scrapbook supplies. You’re also saving space on your desk giving you more room to be creative!

4. Ribbon storage can be sweet and easy with a hand towel rack. You’ll have your ribbon organized in minutes!

5. Serving sets keep it all together while being portable. They’re using vintage aluminum tumblers with this one…it even spins! I want it!

6. Here’s a unique idea…use hanging forks to hold your inspiration or other small items you might want to use in your next project.

7. A repurposed pillbox makes a great storage system for embellishments. Keep eyelets easy to find with a label and a sample of what’s inside glued right on top. Easy peasy!

ss 101236743

8. A shower caddy can be used for organizing gift wrapping supplies, card making paper, scrapbook goodies, or your favorite scissors and punches. This way it’ll all stay nice and neat!

ss 100391036

9. Use a plastic sleeves designed for baseball cards to keep all your die cuts separated and in good shape. You might even be able to steal borrow some from your kids.

ss 100391033

10. Recipe boxes are always nice for small stickers and die cuts, and you can sort them by theme with the cool tabs. I’ve seen some great vintage tins used for this in craft studios.

Next time your local craft store has a sale you can stock up and know that you’ll be able to find it all when you need it! {Not that I would have any experience with that!}

How do you keep your little supplies organized?

~Kim

Really wonderful ideas, some of them I had not seen yet. I -LOVE-the shower caddy idea. I may have to keep my eyes peeled at yard sales and thrift stores for some more of those!

I recently repurposed a cheap one that had a broken hanger on top. It was in the scrap bin ready to be tossed when I remembered it while my husband and I were building a play kitchen for my daughter. I clipped off the broken hanger, spray painted it to match the play kitchen, and screwed it to one side. It ended up being the perfect size for play-food storage, and the hooks beneath were great for hanging her little pot holders and utensils.

Love the ideas for organizing markers — the milk glass vases and vintage metal cups. I think the towel holder would work for wire too. since I am a beader and not a scrapbooker.
I keep my pens and pencils in a apothocary jar that has about a 10 inch mouth. I thought it was differ than cups or caddies.

I have an obsession with glass jars.. I cannot get rid of them. So a few months ago I realized that they would be great for holding all kinds of my craft supplies. Jars from sauces, jellies, salsa, etc. are great for holding pens, pencils, jewelry supplies, die cuts, foam shapes, the list is endless! And I even save the lids and make cute painted magnets out of them.

Great article…I am going to use several of these great tips (I really love the shower caddy idea, ingenious!) I thought I’d share a tip–I have tons of pens and markers and small tools that I like to keep right on my tabletop so I painted three 4″ terra cotta pots in bright colors and put them on a nice lazy susan that I found at a garage sale. Perfect! I also found an old milk bottle wire caddy and found it is the perfect size for canning jars, which are perfect for storage too.

Love the ideas! I use 2 of the plastic tackle boxes to hold supplies. One of them holds my eyelets and brads (in the original packaging and the little rectangle boxes from Cropper Hopper.) And the other holds all my buttons!

These are great ideas…I’m already using some of them, but I need some storage ideas for mass quantities of paper and paint. Anyone have a good solution for the equivalent of about 3 or 4 reams of assorted paper and about 200 bottles of craft paint?

i like the recipe box idea, but, used a different way.
i have lots of scraps, like am sure everyone does,
i think the recipe box, would be great for that.
put the name on the tabs, and store the scraps in that!
